People & Payroll Assistant

The people and payroll assistant will be responsible for supporting the monthly payroll process and working with the people and culture team to ensure all HR processes are followed whilst ensuring that people are the heart of everything we do.

To support line managers in arranging a recruitment schedule, advertising roles, tracking progress, and ensuring process is streamlined.

To Support interviews where needed

To allocate tests, collate results and share where needed

To support drafting JD’s, interview scripts and build bank of competency questions and scenarios

To help shortlist potential candidates

To maintain the company intranet

To support with all data collection and ensuring all systems and files are accurate, up to date.

Support writing contracts, offer letters and collecting references

Support welfare conversations with employees

To assist with all formal emails, letters, and meetings

Support on all employee relation concerns and support upskilling of all managers in all areas

Support creation of templates for all processes where necessary to support difficult conversations

Support any internal grievance or disciplinary meetings as necessary

To maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.

Updates payroll records by entering changes into all necessary systems

Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.

Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.

Process leaver payments and issue P45 documents in timely manner

Carry out all payroll input by appropriate deadlines

Skills & experience required

Ideally CIPD level 5 or working towards

Up to 1 year in similar environment


Excellent understanding of all Microsoft packages with high proficiency in excel

Excellent communication style
