Keep tweeting and boost your Google rankings

Tweet, tweet! The latest research, conducted by Branded3, highlights the fact that Twitter and Google rankings have a positive correlation.  The research has shown that the number of times your business or brand is mentioned on Twitter will increase your Google ranking.

Now, you might be thinking ‘well I already knew that’, but what will help your case, especially if it is your job to prove it, is numbers.  Business owners and managers always love numbers! And here they are, the proof.

– After around 5,000 tweets average ranking improves

– URL’s with over 7,500 tweets tend to rank in the top five results

– Average rankings are heavily correlated to the number of tweets about each URL

Twitter has over 140 million active users, tweeting every second of every day.  It provides researchers with plenty of information to go on, much like the guys at Branded3.

But how can you ensure your content is shared or re-tweeted?

Well, there are many things you can do to help get your tweets ‘out there’.  Tweeting should not be simply churned out but nor should it be something you deliberate over for hours.  Remember, it is about the here and now, not the here and two hours ago.

– Keep it original

– Quality is key

– Useful

– Entertaining

– Cultural

– Inspiring

– Relevant

People love to share things that get them excited or that they can really relate to.  More people will re-tweet and share what you have to offer if it is relevant.  So give your followers something to really shout about and help push your Google rankings!

Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Twitter too.  We have plenty of thought provoking, relevant and useful stuff to share, even if we do say so ourselves!
