Online video production – how mmadigital can help

August 26, 2011 6:37 pm

Arguably we find it easier to watch a story than read it especially online.  That’s how things have developed over the last 100 years or so.  First the moving picture (silent in 1895, talkies in 1927) and the TV (first broadcast in UK 1929). It wasn’t until 1995 that easily portable home video cameras appeared and now every digital appliance seems to also house a digital recorder. We are obsessed with the format. Did you know that YouTube had 174 million visitors a month two years ago?  A visitor rate that is growing fast as that is a 76% increase on the statistics for two years earlier!  YouTube is huge!  More video content is uploaded to YouTube in a 60 day period than the three major U.S. television networks created in 60 years. So if video is so popular, have you got videos on your website?  They are a really…

What is SEO and how can it help your business?

August 24, 2011 5:09 pm

SEO or Search Engine Optimisation to give it its full title is a way of promoting your digital presence, your website in particular but also your blog if you have one. Organic SEO makes sure that search engines find your website via keywords or phrases that rank your listing higher in the search engine stakes. The more times your site or page appears in the search engines the higher up the page you are listed. In turn, this makes you more visible to a higher number of searchers so that when they are looking for something you can offer, your website comes higher in the search engine listing.  The very way that search engines list, encourages us to look at the top listed sites that match our search criteria first. Experts will consider the search engine that your target audience use most.  However there are three main search engines and…

First of all it’s probably good to check out where the audience you are trying to target is ‘meeting’ in the social media community.  Twitter is the fastest growing but Facebook, once primarily the domain of a younger audience, now has one of the fastest growing communities of professional business people all asking you to ‘like’ their business page. LinkedIn is an even more business focused site and good for networking.  Like…

How important is original copy for your website?

August 17, 2011 6:32 pm

The content and copy of your website should reflect your brand and speak to your customers.  It should be a valuable information source of accurate and relevant information.  A potential client researching your services or products will quickly dismiss them if they’ve read it all before somewhere else!  And plagiarised copy will not reflect well on your business’ status. Whilst no business can afford to be without a website or not review their website regularly, it is good to remember that an Internet presence is like your shop window;   it’s the first point of call for many customers and more and more people shop online or at least research products and services via the Internet before making any decisions. At mmadigital we can review your website to ensure that you are engaging with your existing and potential customers. Original copy should reflect your USP (Unique Selling Proposition); it gets a…
